Goals for 2009
Get into journalism! (Something I will probably know before the New Year) – TICK!
Update wardrobe with stuff I can wear both for work and everyday. I’ll start at the opshops then places like Max, Principals, Portmans, Temt and FarmersĀ – Hmmmm. Sort of…working on a extra limited budget, but at least I finally seem to have enough shoes if nothing else.
Pay off debts. My bed should be done by the start of the year, and my tax by February, so very doable! – TICK!
Start Kiwisaver (depending on the boy’s work situation, and my own, this may be put off till the end of the year or otherwise start full time work – oh, please god!) – Yep. Definitely put off till graduation. Seeing as I am expected to support two people on a student income for the foreseable future.
Keep my garden/plants alive. If they make it to 2009, that is. Ties in with general house/lawn maintenance. – Sigh. BF fell onto my tomato plant (No joke. That’s what happens when boys watch too much wrestling on Sky, not unlike the days when everyone imitated Pokemon). Definitely dead. May postpone trying to keep other living things alive until after graduation; it’s all I can do to keep myself fed and clothed at the moment.
Save regularly (say, $20 a week). This’ll depend on how much I can actually work; if I get into journo I will have very little time to work, so I’ll try to at least keep on 12-16 hours a week. That should be doable. And if I continue to freelance, well that’s just a nice bonus to get my savings going up faster (and some pocket money). Will also try to have enough saved up to pay for the boy’s car insurance come end of May – unlikely, given things at the moment, but every bit counts. – Well, in light of BF’s redundancy and impending return to study, we are down to a bare bones budget. I am working 13-14 hrs at work, but freelancing is definitely out (not because I don’t have time, which would be true anyway, but because of the big ol Recession). I have, however, from time to time put away small amounts from bonus income – mystery shopping, overtime, etc.
Get my bloody restricted license! Enough said. – TICK!

As long as no one else falls on your plants that should be doable too:).
